With the impending Cyclone due, the following wind speed and rainfall is expected.

Wednesday 5 March

Damaging wind gusts exceeding 90km per hour with up to 70mm of rain.

Thursday 6 March

Friday 7 March

Damaging wind gusts exceeding 130km per hour with up to 130mm of rain.

Saturday 8 March

Winds drop to 25km per hour with up to 120mm rain.

The Recreation Centre’s will be closed from 1pm Wednesday 5 March until deemed safe to reopen.

Points to remember…

After the cyclone do not go outside until officially advised it is safe to do so.

Listen to local radio for official warnings and advice.

Beware of damaged power lines, bridges, buildings and trees.

Do not enter floodwaters

Avoid unnecessary phone calls to keep lines clear for emergency services

Listen to all warnings and avoid ‘sightseeing’.

Our staff will not be able to provide assistance during an emergency, please contact the relevant authority for assistance and in the event of a life-threatening emergency please phone 000.

We request that residents do not phone our office for maintenance issues after the cyclone e.g. trees down, drains blocked, etc., please log all requests via our website https://www.cwmut.com.au/contact/, requests will be attended to in order of urgency once it is safe for our staff to be onsite. It is anticipated that our office will not be staffed on Thursday and Friday, where possible staff will be able to access enquiries remotely.
